Hello, dear reader!
I’m pleased to announce that I published my fourth book today. The Tenth Reaver is the first book in a new series and is the result of a great deal of effort on my part. I’ve discovered that starting a new story after finishing a trilogy is no easy task.
I would like to pen a public thank you to my editor, Matt Feisthammel. He put a lot of work into this book, and there’s no doubt in my mind that his labors made this a better story.
Back in 2017, the primary motivator for publishing Rune Empire when I did was so that I could enter Mark Lawrence’s Self Published Fantasy (SPFBO) contest. My book did not make it very far, but I was overjoyed to be able to participate in the contest. After that, I set a goal for myself: finish the Runebound trilogy and have another series started so that I could enter the first book in SPFBO 2018.
Well, I got The Tenth Reaver back from Matt (my editor) today, and Mark Lawrence opened the contest for applications this morning. After working all morning, I produced a final manuscript and submitted it to the contest! Last time I checked, 125 of the available 300 spots were already filled. In less than eight hours!
So, I’m very happy to have finished the book in time to enter the contest, even if it came down to the wire. I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
